The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) will enable a tribal care coordination meeting for Veterans treated under the VA Reimbursement Agreement Program. VA is looking at how we can ensure that American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) veterans who need a supply that goes beyond what is offered directly in IHS/THP facilities, can receive this care smoothly, either in VA medical facilities or in the community. VA established the Healthcare Coordination Advisory Board, with the participation of IHS and tribes, to assist in the development and implementation of standardized care coordination processes. The purpose of this consultation meeting is to discuss the approach developed at the Advisory Committee meetings and to obtain feedback from participants on the implementation plans for procurement coordination activities.
